“He who finds a wife, finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord.”
Who is that good thing? What makes a woman that good thing? How do we become that good thing?
In 2012 I got married. By 2014 my divorce was final. What happened? What went wrong? Well, a lot. For starters, I was ill-prepared to become someone’s wife. Once my divorce was final, I purposed in my heart that I would not be unprepared the next time I got married (yes, I still desire to marry again :)). There was no way I was going into another marriage wounded and carrying baggage. So, I began a journey of renewing my mind regarding my health, fitness, finances, relationship with God and healing my emotions.
This is what I believe being that good thing is. Some of your definitions may be different, but the one thing that remains: if you desire to say “I do“, then you’ve got work to do!
Women (most) have a strong desire to be married; a desire that I believe was given to you by our Father. It is good to desire marriage, BUT as with anything else in life, you must prepare. This is not about being perfect, but striving for excellence in every area of your life.
That Good Thing serves as a resource offering tips, stories, encouragement and humor in the areas of fitness, finances, spiritual and emotional health. I want to join you on your journey to becoming That Good Thing. Let’s go prepare!
